Donation Trip to Kum Chaung

Ma Lei, one of our friends in Myanmar went on a trip to the affected areas very soon after the storm had ploughed through the area. The trip itself was dangerous as the weather was really bad. Many parts of the Delta can only be reached by boat and especially in the time just after Nargs this was the only way to travel as the few roads that did exist were destroyed or badly damaged by the cyclone. They encountered some difficulities but fortunately their boat did not sink unlike two other boats that sunk on that day that were carrying refugees on their way back to the villages.

Ma Lei saw many corpses in the river an even in the village where she donated food aid. The people were too distressed and tormented from their experiences to properly dispose of the dead. Their main concern was how to find food in order to survive.
